PwC Career-Boosting Game Bucharest – 2015

PwC launches an innovative recruitment tool – PwC Career-Boosting Game Bucharest 2015

PwC is pioneering a new approach to its recruitment and selection process: PwC Career-Boosting Game, a competition based on the gamification concept, which proposes the use of game thinking and game mechanics in a real context, in the business environment.

This competition is targeted at students and graduates interested in a career in professional services. The PwC Career-Boosting Game will be launched between 24 and 30 March in three of the largest universities in Bucharest:

  • 24, 25 and 26 March, from 12:00 at the Academy for Economic Studies;
    · 25 March, from 15:00 at the Polytechnic University;
    · 30 March, from 12:00 at the law school of Bucharest University;

    The programme will run between 2 April and 18 May. Participants will enter a dynamic team-based contest in which they’ll solve macro-economic problems, interact with team-mates on Facebook, participate in personal development workshops and get to know the PwC professionals who will be helping them with their projects. They’ll also have the opportunity to work for a day at PwC Romania, as well have lunch and interact with the professional services firm leaders.

    The best teams will be awarded cash prizes and some of the participants could be selected for an internship programme or recruited for junior consultant positions within PwC Romania.

    “This initiative is part of our strategy to recruit juniors and interns by identifying high-potential talents, full of energy and initiative, who want to build a career in professional services in PwC. The competition is an alternative to the annual recruitment process for junior consultants, with the participants’ abilities being monitored and evaluated at every stage of the game. With this new approach we want to get to know the candidates better, in a manner that we hope is more fun for the participants. We’ll combine Facebook interactions with the opportunity to get to know the PwC professionals, in an informal context that favours dialogue”, stated Ramona Simulescu, HR Leader, PwC Romania.

    The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony in May, with those selected to be part of the PwC team then joining the firm in September. It is estimated that up to 150 graduates will be recruited through this programme.

    PwC firms help organisations and individuals create the value they’re looking for. We’re a network of firms in 157 countries with more than 195,000 people who are committed to delivering quality in assurance, tax and advisory services.
